Covering film engineered for five seasons of sun, not one

Co-extruded film with a UV package, an anti-drip layer on the inner face and an optional thermal layer, in widths up to 12 m so a tunnel cover needs fewer seams.

Overview

Most covering film fails at the two points nobody inspects at the port: the UV layer and the drip layer. We co-extrude both, so the stabiliser sits in the outer skin where the sun actually hits it, and the anti-drip surfactant sits on the inner face where condensation forms. The result is a cover that keeps more than 90% light transmission through the season instead of going milky in month fourteen.

Thickness runs from 60 micron for seasonal tunnels to 200 micron for multi-span houses and hail-exposed sites. Widths go to 12 m, which matters more than it sounds: every seam removed is a leak, a re-cover and a place where wind pulls the sheet apart.

What it does in the field

  • Light transmission above 90%

Clean virgin resin with no regrind in the light path keeps haze low and transmission stable across the roll.

  • Anti-drip on the inner face

Condensation forms as a film instead of droplets, so water does not fall onto flowers and fruit and trigger botrytis.

  • Seam reduction up to 12 m

Wide sheets cover a 8 m tunnel with a single length, removing the ridge seam where wind damage usually starts.

  • Thermal retention for highlands

EVA content holds night heat, protecting tomatoes and flowers where nights drop below 12 °C.

  • Five-year UV package

Hindered-amine stabiliser dosed for 60 months of direct exposure, with test rolls available on request.

Grades available

01

Standard UV clear

High-clarity covering with a UV package sized for 3–5 years of exposure. The economic choice for seasonal vegetable tunnels.

02

Anti-drip / anti-fog

A surfactant layer on the inner face stops condensation droplets forming and running onto the crop, cutting leaf disease pressure.

03

Thermal IR (EVA)

An EVA-rich structure that traps outgoing long-wave radiation, holding night temperature 2–4 °C higher in cool highland areas.

04

Diffused light

Spreads direct radiation into a softer, more uniform light field, which reduces leaf scorch and evens out growth in tall crops.

Packing & loading

Rolls are wound on a core, sleeved and palletised flat to keep the sheet from creasing. Each roll carries a label with grade, width, thickness, length and lot number, and the loading plan shows exactly how the pallets stack.

Questions buyers ask

The UV package is dosed for 36 to 60 months depending on grade and radiation load. In high-altitude sites take the 60-month grade; coastal and lowland sites are usually fine at 36.

Send the house drawing or the gutter and arch dimensions. We cut width and roll length so the sheet runs gutter to gutter with the correct overhang, and we check the span before quoting.

We supply the film, and can quote channel, wire, clips and repair tape with the same shipment. Installation itself is handled by your local contractor.

One roll per width and thickness. Mixed containers are normal — a 40HQ will take two or three grades together.
